Shri Sampath Vinayaka Swamy Temple was built in 1962  by T.S. Rajeshwaran and T.S. Selvaganesan in the premises of M/s S.G.Sambandan and Co in Visakhapatnam and soon become the busiest temple in the city. People from different places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, and the Godavari Districts visit the temple regularly and worships the deity to receive the blessings of the Lord Ganesha.

  • Sampath Vinayaka Temple was actually build to obviate  Vasth Dosha of the building and to create a worship place to their own family members and staff. Soon, the local fishermen started visiting the temple to offer prayers before they visit the market with their catch.
  • In 1967, Kanchi Peetadhipathi, Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati came here to worship the lord and placed Sri Ganapati Yantra in the inner side of the temple.
  • Admiral Krishnan of Eastern Naval Command broke 1001 Coconuts in the premises of the temple for saving the City from the Indo-Pak war in 1971 after the Ghazi submarine destroyed near to Visakhapatnam Coast
  • More than 2 million devotees visit the temple every year to perform the rituals of doing pooja to their new Vehicles and students' visits before the exams to score the good marks in the exams. 
  • Pandits perform Telugu Tamil traditional way of doing pooja and worship.
  • The festivities are celebrated here for a period of 9 days in honor of Lord Ganesha Chavathi festival. On this occasion, Lord Ganesha will be seen in unique Alankarana each day to the Devotees. 
  • During the Ganesh Chaturthi, the Navaratri Festival temple will conduct Annaprasadam for 2000 devotees daily.
  • Due to the temple innovative architectural style with a small compound, the devotees can go for the darshan any time in the day but the temple gates open from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the morning and from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM in the evening and there is no entry fee also.
