Yes, there is a panic situation that got raised on Thursday early hours. There is a chemical plant named LG Polymer from which a gas named Styrene got leaked and it spread to almost 5 km radius from the plant.

This gas affected many of the people near and surrounding the plant.

Early morning at 3 PM on Thursday there was a leakage of Styrene gas from LG Chem Polymer. The gas spread to nearby places within minutes. As everyone were in deep sleep it took time for the people to react to this situation.

It took time for the local police to set up into the situation and handle it. However, in-between 4 AM- 5AM the local police jumped into the action and started alerting the people nearby people to vacate their places and move to a safer place.

Most of the people from Naidu Thota, Simhachalam, Gopalpatnam, Vepagunta already vacated the houses and moved to their friends and relative's houses.

The exact cause and how the leak happened is yet to confirm by the government officials. District collector Vinay also visited the spot. 

It was disturbing when they mentioned that many of the people were fallen unconscious beside roads. All of them were taken to government and private hospitals for treatment. 

As locals were complaining people who inhale the gas having breathing issues, skin allergic symptoms.

AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy also visited KGH to monitor the victims and updates on the situation.

NDRF and SDRF teams were deployed on time for the rescue operations.

PTBC is a specialized chemical, it is prepared only in VAPI town in Gujarat. Andhra government requested Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani to arrange the chemical to neutralize the Vizag gas leak.

Vizag district magistrate stated that the emission of the gas is not yet completely stopped. The emission of the gas is rated 1 to 2.5. They need to monitor for another 48hrs to get confirmation of whether we are in a safe zone or not. Water sprinklers are going to be used to reduce the gas and trying to neutralize it to zero. Emissions are still continuing to happen.

A senior district official said A technical glitch in the refrigeration unit attached to the two styrene tanks at a chemical plant near here caused the vapour leak that killed 11 people on Thursday, as a preliminary report.

More than 500 people were hospitalized and many of them were on ventilators. People major affect on breathing. Many of the people were unable to breathe for them Oxygen cylinders were used. Not only humans even animal died due to this gas leak. Center asks chemical manufacturers to exercise before they reopen the industries after a lockdown in order to fill the gap

Currently CSIR-NEERI teams working on controlling the gas effect in the air with the help of chemical PTBC which was bought from Gujarat at midnight. Along with the water, sprinklers are also being used to control the gas effect. 

As of now, the total situation is under control. At the midnight there was fake news rolled out stating about the Blast and Second-time gas leak. Everything is fake, all are safe and govt official working to get the control of the gas density with the PTBC and Water sprinklers
